Profile
Dr. Mohammed Aljahdali is an Associate Professor at King Abdulaziz University, Faculty of Marine Sciences, Marine Geology Department specialized in marine micropaleontology and paleoceanography. He completed his master's and PhD from Florida State University, USA under the supervision of Prof. Sherwood Wise in 2013 and 2016, respectively. Currently. he is teaching paleoceanographic courses for graduate and undergraduate students.
Dr. Aljahdali has participated in the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) as a marine microfossil scientist. He sailed on two expeditions (Expedition 340 ca. 2012 and Expedition 351 ca. 2014). Each of these expeditions was designed to study the effect of slump and slides as well as volcanic activities in the most active regions (Caribbean Sea and Western Pacific Ocean).

Research Interests
I am particularly interested in the field of Marine Paleoenvironments/ Paleoceanography by using marine microfossils (nannofossils) and geochemical signals to interpret and infer the marine paleoecology. I have sailed twice with the International Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) in 2012 and 2014, respectively.
